In Italy there are many festive events where many people gather and dress as La Befana, singing songs and celebrating in the Spirit of this Magical Strega! ( Boy ..I wish I was there now!)
She also is known to have followed the Star and have found the Baby Jesus….some legends say she is “still searching” for the Christ Child. There are many different tales..whatever story you were brought up with..they are all magical.
The Befana is traditionally known as an Old Crone..the Good Witch with a broomstick..and by some is also celebrated as the Beautiful Goddess Fauna( her other Ancient depiction).
